GRANT COUNTY – The State of Oregon Employment Department has issued some facts and statistics regarding the people in Grant County. The county’s population in 2025 was recorded at 7,221 residents spread throughout 4,528 square miles. The county’s largest city is John Day, with a population of 1,643 residents. Coming in second is Prairie City, with 846 people, and then Canyon City with a population of 681.
The Median Household Income for Grant County is $59,450. 43% of residents in the local workforce have some college education, with 18% having a bachelor’s degree or higher.
