Grant County walking group add pedestrian signs to NW Bridge St.

JOHN DAY – The Grant County Change Club, also known as the “Walk-A-Lotte” group, received funding from OHSU for a community improvement project of the group’s choosing. The walking group decided that some pedestrian crossing signs were needed on NW Bridge Street in John Day, and made it happen. Peer Leader Larry DeCew was on KJDY’s Coffee Time discussing the completion of the project:

“We finally got the signs. The City [Public] Works Department installed them. They are where the walking path crosses Bridge Street. The signs are ‘PEDESTRIAN, SLOW’ signs, and they’ve got flashing LEDs on them. They really grab your attention. I think they’ve definitely been a benefit to that.”
