GRANT COUNTY – Grant County Emergency Management Coordinator Eric Bush was recently in the Elkhorn Media Group’s John Day newsroom, and said the county is building what he’s calling a “Resilience Hub Network” between communities.

Bush said the network will consist of hubs within each Grant County town or community that could be equipped to plug into the large, portable emergency generator owned by the county, should one of those communities lose power.

The infrastructure needs some work to equip each community building with what’s necessary to accept the generator’s power. The Emergency Management Coordinator said the county will be applying for grant funding to make that happen:

“We’re trying to do this in uniform format, and demonstrate to the state that has the money, that, ‘This is our plan; we have this Resilience Hub Network,’ and then apply for the money so we can then make sure that each of these communities have the resources to do what they need to do to take care of their own folks.”
