GRANT COUNTY – It’ll be cold tonight, and Grant County residents are urged to take precautions.

City officials in Canyon City, Prairie City and John Day remind Grant County listeners to trickle the water on their faucets, especially tonight, to prevent frozen and broken pipes during periods of extreme cold. Low temperatures in Grant County are expected to be in the single digits, above and below zero, tonight.

Prairie City Public Works Director Chris Camarena also asks residents of Prairie City to remove basketball hoops and other items from the sides of city streets to make snow plowing, piling and removal easier for crews.
