Grant County SRO Mike Durr to continue service in schools

JOHN DAY – Grant County School Resource Officer, Deputy Mike Durr, was on Coffee Time recently to discuss his experiences at the four Grant County schools he visits each week. Durr said being present in each of the schools not only has a positive impact on the students, but in his own life as well:

“The smallest thing that you do for those [students]—I mean, something that would mean nothing to you—is really big to those kids.

My initial agreement was I am going to do this for two years, and we’ve already re-thought that, and we’ll probably go a little while longer.”

Deputy Durr visits Prairie City, Long Creek, Dayville, and Monument Schools each week.
