Grant County Sheriff McKinley presented with American Legion state and regional awards

LINCOLN CITY / JOHN DAY – Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley was the recipient of two prestigious awards at the American Legion Oregon State Convention, held recently in Lincoln City. As previously reported, Sheriff McKinley was awarded the “Law Officer of the Year” award for both the State of Oregon and the Western Region through the American Legion. That puts him in the running, along with four others, for the Law Officer of the Nation award.

On a recent episode of Coffee Time at KJDY Studios, the Sheriff said, “It was quite the event to be able to be there with all the Legion members that attend. Had a good Time. To be with those gentlemen and ladies that have served the country…it was emotional, coming up on our 250th celebration and what all people have done for this nation.”

Sheriff McKinley was presented the award by District 10 Finance Officer and Past Commander, Jim Jerome.
