JOHN DAY – Staff at the Grant County Library are doing what they can to help folks know their way around a computer, smart phone, tablet and more, along with the apps and programs that accompany them.

Librarian Chris Ostberg told KJDY’s Coffee Time listeners Friday that every Wednesday beginning next week, she’ll be available to help folks out in the free Basic Computer Skills class:

“When somebody comes in and shows you how to run a computer, they just assume you know what they’re talking about. So, these are kind of explanations of what you’re doing and why. What is an app? Why do you need it? What is it going do for you? That kind of thing. They will be every Wednesday, 2 p.m. at the Library.”

Ostberg also mentioned that if someone has a specific question about a program or device, she can help with that as well. The class will cover topics like smart phones, computer skills, telehealth and zoom meetings, and more. They will be held weekly beginning Wednesday, October 18th.

The library is open 11 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
