Grant County house damaged in chimney fire

GRANT COUNTY – Multiple agencies responded to a reported structure fire yesterday afternoon at a location up Corral Gulch Road, south of Canyon City. Initial scanner traffic that came in indicated that a flue fire was occurring, with the possibility of fire spreading to more of the home. The Canyon City Fire Department, John Day Fire Department, and Grant County Sheriff’s Office all responded. Grant County Emergency Management reports no one was hurt in the incident, but the home suffered significant damage.
