Grant County Fairgrounds rodeo arena closed for construction

JOHN DAY – Grant County Fairgrounds Manager Mindy Winegar would like to inform the public that the outdoor arena at the Fairgrounds is closed until further notice. This is due to construction. Winegar was on Coffee Time recently and explained what they’ll be doing:
“We will be getting new overhead lights. Last year, we were able to redo the roping side of the arena, and now we are going to start on the rough stock side. [We’re putting] one extra chute in there, so we’ll have six chutes; and then redo the corrals and the alleyways.”
The Grant County Rodeo is August 1st and 2nd.
