Grant County Fair will be a week later next year

JOHN DAY – Grant County Fairgrounds Manager Mindy Winegar was on KJDY’s Coffee Time recently, and informed listeners that the board has decided to bump fair ahead one week starting next year:
“We have changed our dates, so, we’re going back to what they used to be. Our fair dates will be August 13th through the 16th. The last few years we’ve been the same time as Baker County and Crook County; and I think that will help both of their fairs, plus, help our fair, too, in getting people to come.”
Winegar also mentioned that Catherine Gibbs will be next year’s Grand Marshall. A fair theme has yet to be decided, and folks with ideas can call the fair office at (541) 575-1900.
