CANYON CITY – Grant County Emergency Management Coordinator Eric Bush recently updated KJDY and News102 listeners on the Emergency Operations Center project currently underway. Bush said the first phase of the project was transferring his office from the County’s “L” Building in John Day, to the old Grant County Road Department building on the south end of Canyon City:
“We’ve converted that over to an Emergency Operations Center, but it’s not fully operational yet, because it takes time to build these things out. The first pahse was just getting a small conference room and my office done. That was completed in March of last year. So, now what were doing… is what I have described as Phase 2 of the project, which is renovating the rest of building.”
Bush said the renovations will be made possible thanks to congressionally directed funding from a FEMA grant through our senate delegation offices.
