JOHN DAY – Grant County Emergency Management Coordinator Eric Bush was on KJDY’s Coffee Time recently, and reminded listeners that with the increase in temperatures, there is also an increase in fire danger:
“If you’ve been looking at the weather report, Saturday is supposed to be really hot—close to 100, upper 90’s, at least. The relative humidity is going to be really low, down to about 12%, it looks like. There is going to be some severe winds with those, but fortunately, for us, the worst winds are going to be north of us. All of those things together are really a high-risk situation I think, for our community.”
Bush suggested everyone check with their local fire departments for current fire restrictions. The City of Mt. Vernon recently entered Regulated Closure on Monday.
