Grant Co. Dispatch Supervisor Angia Hannibal receives national Motorola Solutions award in FL

ORLANDO, FL – Grant County 9-1-1 Dispatcher Angia Hannibal has received national recognition by Motorola Solutions. Hannibal received the first-ever Customer Excellence award on April 22nd in Orlando, Florida. Hannibal was chosen unanimously by the board of directors out of 38 individuals.  Grant County Emergency Communications Agency’s Angia Hannibal has been recognized for Customer Excellence by Motorola Solutions in Orlando, Florida. This is the first year Motorola has awarded this recognition, designed to recognize individuals and agencies that are doing exceptional work, utilizing technology, engaging in teamwork, and decisive leadership.

38 individuals were nominated for the national award with Hannibal being selected unanimously by the board of public safety officials.

Hannibal was nominated by 911 dispatch director, Cammie DeRosier, who cited many of Hannibal’s outstanding qualities. “Angia is truly the epitome of performing with grace under pressure—navigating challenges with composure, making sound decisions in the face of uncertainty, and inspiring confidence in those around her.”

Most recent was Hannibal’s performance during Grant County’s historic 2024 fire season as acting director. “Angia boldly stepped to the helm, organizing resources and dispatch schedules quickly and skillfully. Throughout the conflagrations Angia compiled countless lists of contact information for arriving resources, volunteered when off duty at the Emergency Operations Center, and covered countless hours at the dispatch console.”

In his letter of support, Sheriff Todd McKinley shared his appreciation for Hannibal’s dedication. “There were many calls for service, radio traffic, multi-agency operations, accidents, a fatal plane crash, a drowning, evacuations, and coordination on an extremely elevated level with multiple agencies… I want to commend Supervisor Hannibal for exceptional tenacity, patience, and perseverance.”

The 911 Intergovernmental Council Chairman, Kenny Delano expressed his congratulations to Hannibal for her many achievements. “This is a fantastic thing for her personally and a great representation of the work done by our agency. I couldn’t be prouder.”
