Grant County clean air and cooling stations are open

Grant County Emergency Management recently released a list of clean air and cooling centers throughout the county. Folks around the community can visit the following locations for respite from the smoky air:
Grant County Library- clean air/cooling station
OPEN: Mon-Thurs 11-5:30
Prairie City Public Works- clean air center
OPEN: Mon-Fri 12-7
Dayville Community Hall- clean air/cooling station
OPEN: 24/7
John Day Senior Center- Clean air/cooling station
OPEN: Mon and Thurs 10-5; Tue 12-4
In addition, the Red Cross Emergency Evacuation Station is set up at Grant Union High School in John Day, and capable of providing shelter, a place to sleep, food, and water for those evacuating from wilfires in rant County. This is also a clean air location and cooling center.
