JOHN DAY – Heart of Grant County Advocate Rayme Lacey was on KJDY’s Coffee Time to inform listeners that domestic violence and abuse can take on several ugly forms:
“A lot of people would just consider domestic violence as physical abuse, but there’s a lot more that goes into it. Domestic violence is more about one person exerting power or control over another person.”
Lacey said domestic abuse can also come in the form of financial abuse, emotional and psychological abuse, and even animal abuse. She said studies have shown that someone using violence on a pet can be a primary predictor for domestic abuse.
