Grant County 9-1-1 answered 7,460 calls to service in 2025

JOHN DAY – Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley was in the studio yesterday and reflected on the calls to service over last year for our local first responders, and the call volume last month alone for the Sheriffโ€™s Office:

โ€œThe county, all told, I think the call volume was about 7,460 calls in the county. Those are calls for service. [That] is total, not just what we responded to, but thatโ€™s ambulance, fire, all of those. For us, a typical monthโ€”so, the month of Decemberโ€”just the Sheriffโ€™s Office responded to 398 calls.โ€
