Grande Ronde Hospital lifts visitor restrictions in all patient care

LA GRANDE — (Release from Grande Ronde Hospital) Grande Ronde Hospital (GRH) is pleased to announce that visitor restrictions implemented due  to Norovirus concerns have been lifted effective immediately. This decision reflects a significant  decrease in Norovirus cases in our region and our confidence in the community’s continued  commitment to health and safety practices.

We sincerely appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our patients, families, and  community members during the temporary visitor restrictions. Your efforts have helped protect  the health of our patients, staff, and the broader community during a challenging time.

While restrictions have been lifted, we, along with our public health partner, the Center for  Human Development, encourage everyone to continue practicing healthy habits to prevent the  spread of illness. These include:

Frequent Handwashing: Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water, especially after  using the restroom, before eating, and after being in public spaces. Handwashing is  highly effective in reducing the spread of Norovirus and other illnesses.

Staying Home When Sick: If you feel unwell or have been exposed to someone sick,  please stay home to protect others.

Using Proper Hygiene Practices: Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or elbow  when coughing or sneezing and dispose of tissues immediately.

Grande Ronde Hospital remains committed to providing exceptional care while prioritizing the  safety and well-being of our community. We will continue closely monitoring community health  trends and adapting our practices to ensure a safe environment for all.

Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to the health of our community.
