LA GRANDE – (Release from Grande Ronde Hospital) Grande Ronde Hospital has been recognized with a 2023 Performance Leadership Award for Excellence in Outcomes by the Chartis Center for Rural Health (Chartis). Today is National Rural Health Day and we could not be prouder to share this rural excellence recognition with our community on this day.
The Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX is the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of all Critical Access Hospitals (CAH) and Rural & Community Hospitals in the nation across eight pillars of performance. From this assessment, the Performance Leadership Awards honor top quartile performance among rural hospitals in the nation across the spectrums of Quality, Outcomes and Patient Perspective. The data sources behind the Outcomes category GRH has received recognition for include comparisons of data on mortality and readmission rates.
“Getting care right the first time is always the goal. Being recognized for Outcomes (low readmission and mortality rates) shows we are providing the best possible care for those we serve. I could not be prouder of the amazing team of people I work with here at Grande Ronde. Dedicated to quality care that exceeds our patients’ expectations is something we take to heart. Delivering the best possible outcomes for our neighbors and friends begins with that heart for service,” said President and CEO Jeremy Davis.
The Performance Leadership Awards are based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®, the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. INDEX data is relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations and state offices of rural health to measure and monitor performance across several areas impacting hospital operations and finance.
“Wherever we go in rural America, we witness first-hand the commitment, determination, and compassion with which rural hospitals serve their communities. Rural healthcare truly is mission-driven,” said Michael Topchik, National Leader, The Chartis Center for Rural Health. “This National Rural Health Day, let us recognize the efforts of this year’s Performance Leadership Award winners and all those driven to deliver high quality care throughout rural communities.”
