Glasby sentenced in Walla Walla County for 2025 multi-county pursuit

WALLA WALLA — Skylar Ian Glasby was sentenced Thursday in Walla Walla County Superior Court to 40 months in prison following his guilty plea to charges stemming from a 2025 multi-county high-speed pursuit and subsequent court proceedings.
Glasby appeared before Judge George B. Fearing. He previously entered guilty pleas on July 15 to amended charges of attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle and second-degree perjury.
During the hearing, Walla Walla County Chief Deputy Prosecutor April King argued for the high end of the standard range, requesting a total confinement period of 43 months. She emphasized the severe public danger posed during the April 26, 2025, chase, noting that the pursuit spanned 30 miles across Prescott, Waitsburg, and Dayton. King highlighted that Glasby endangered multiple pedestrians, including two 10-year-old boys on bicycles, and nearly crashed into a home in Dayton before hiding in a trash container, where he was apprehended by a K9 unit. Corporal Joshua Parris of the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office also testified, recounting how Glasby swerved into oncoming traffic lanes multiple times during the pursuit.
Defense attorney Ashely Kulberg requested a sentence at the low end of the 33-to-43-month standard range. She presented a heartfelt statement written by Glasby’s 15-year-old daughter and pointed to his 15 months in local custody without rule infractions. Glasby addressed the court, expressing remorse to the community, acknowledging his struggles with anxiety, depression, and substance abuse, and stating his desire to change his life.
Judge Fearing noted that while Glasby demonstrated personal progress, the serious public risk during the chase outweighed the mitigating factors. Fearing sentenced Glasby to 40 months on the perjury count and 17 months on the eluding count, to be served concurrently, with credit for 459 days already served.
Glasby also faces separate criminal charges in Columbia County connected to the same multi-county chase. Attorneys in Columbia County Superior Court confirmed that a plea agreement has been reached in that jurisdiction, with Glasby scheduled to appear for a change-of-plea hearing on Aug. 5 in Dayton.
