UMATILLA COUNTY – The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office has returned frequent offender Skyler Ian Glasby, 34, of Dayton, Wash. to the Umatilla County Jail. Glasby was arrested Thursday afternoon at the Out West Motel in Milton-Freewater.
UCSO Capt. Sterrin Ward says that on Thursday morning, the Walla Walla Police Department notified their office that it was possible there was a stolen 1997 Nissan pickup at the motel on Highway 11. Deputies responded, located the stolen truck, and contacted Glasby in one of the hotel rooms after a staff member reported Glasby and an adult female were still inside even though checkout time had passed. Officers knew that Glasby had an outstanding arrest warrant.
Glasby was taken into custody on the outstanding fugitive felony warrant issued by the Washington Department of Corrections and lodged at the Umatilla County Jail. A stolen vehicle out of Walla Walla was recovered and returned to its owner.
UCSO continued to investigate other possible charges. On Sunday, Detective Michael Ellwood submitted those probable-cause charges against Glasby while he remained in custody. The Oregon charges are possession of a prohibited firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. All of the Oregon charges are felonies.
Prior to this, Glasby’s most recent arrest came in April when he was shot while allegedly committing a burglary in Walla Walla.
