PRAIRIE CITY – The John Day Interagency Dispatch Center is reporting the Cole Canyon Fire, about 7 miles northeast of Monument, has been contained at 148 acres. Also, the agency reports that resources are responding to the Glacier Fire, about 16.6 miles southeast of Prairie City. It was reported yesterday afternoon burning in grass, brush, timber and slash. The blaze was last updated at 1 acre, and containment information has not been listed.
Also, the Black Butte Fire 16.6 miles southeast of Prairie City has grown to 7,645 acres. Today, firefighters will continue to establish a foothold on the southern end of the fire, utilizing existing roads on the east and west flank. It is burning in grass, brush, timber and down logs; and is 0% contained.
