ELGIN, OR – (Information provided by the Elgin School District) For the third time in OSAA history, a state girls wrestling championship will be held Feb. 24 at Culver High School in Oregon.
On Saturday, district tournament were held throughout the state to determine the 12-wrestler bracket for the 14 different weight divisions.
Girls’ wrestling is all one classification as the sport continues to grow, pitting the smallest of schools against the biggest in a battle for who are truly the top girl’s wrestlers in the state.
The top three from each weight at the four different district meets will earn a spot at the state tournament in a couple weeks.
Elgin will have their first ever girl competitor at the State Tournament. Aryanna Albright.
