MORROW COUNTY – The Seattle Seahawks are going to the Super Bowl. After the exciting game Sunday, Morrow County District Attorney Justin Nelson noticed an uptick in driving under the influence of intoxicants cases.
That’s something he doesn’t want to see recur during the Super Bowl game against the New England Patriots.
“Now is your time to prepare,” he said to Seahawk fans. “Enjoy the football game. Have fun. I have no problem with drinking, having a good time. But find that designated driver, get that rideshare set up, or spend the night.”
Nelson said that whether it’s on back roads or main highways, driving under the influence is a bad idea. It could result in death and injury or it could mean spending the night in jail while everyone else is celebrating. Just like the team is preparing for the game, fans need to prepare to celebrate without breaking the law.
The Super Bowl is Feb. 8.
