GCSO responds to stranded motorists near the head of Murderer’s Creek

GRANT COUNTY – Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley recently said he has noticed an increase in visitors to the county. The Sheriff said it is important that any adventurers be prepared for the conditions:

“We did have an incident where some people were out seeing the country. They had to go up the South Fork because there was no snow there, and there was kind of a route that they were able to use to get all the way up in toward the head of Murderer’s Creek and get stuck. It took about three hours to get to them.”

Folks can contact a local ranger station if they have questions regarding the Malheur National Forest. Call the Supervisor’s Office at 541-575-3000.
