SENECA / JOHN DAY – UPDATE: GCSO has issued a press release regarding a burglary and menacing incident on Sunday, April 13th in John Day. Find the press release below:

On 4/13/25 at a about 3:28pm The Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an unwanted person at a residence on Skyline road in John Day. It was also reported that the subject was armed with a handgun and had possibly discharged it in inside the residence.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police Troopers arrived on scene and took Kenneth Kole Orndorff into custody without incident. Mr. Orndorff is an estranged family member of the homeowner.
Mr. Orndorff was charged with Menacing (DV) Burglary 1, Criminal Trespass 1, Pointing a Firearm at another, Unlawful use of a weapon, Warrant x2 and Possession of a weapon by certain felons.

PREVIOUS: The Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of menacing yesterday afternoon at a location on E Cowboy Lane near Silvies, south of Seneca.
At approximately 1:28 p.m., Trace Michael Cummings, 27, of Seneca was arrested for Domestic Violence Harassment and Domestic Violence Menacing. Nothing further was released regarding the arrest.
Approximately two hours later, Grant Country Sheriffs Office personnel responded to another report of menacing in a separate incident at a location on Skyline Drive in John Day. As a result, Kole Kenneth Orndorff, 56, of Florence, Oregon was arrested for Menacing, Pointing A Firearm at Another, Criminal Trespassing, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Burglary 1. Nothing further was released on the incident.
