Freeze warning in effect Friday night from Pendleton to Arlington up to Tri-Cities

PENDLETON – A freeze warning goes into effect Friday night for the western foothills of the Blue Mountains along with Benton and Franklin Counties.
The warning also extends west through northern Morrow County and a stretch of Gilliam County including Arlington. Cities affected include Pendleton, Hermiston, Boardman, Walla Walla, and the Tri-Cities area.
The National Weather Service says temperatures Friday night through Saturday morning could drop as low as 28 degrees, potentially killing crops and sensitive vegetation as well as possibly damaging unprotected outdoor plumbing.
