MILTON-FREEWATER – The city of Milton-Freewater will begin work this spring on the Freewater Park improvement project.
Using a combination of city staff and contractors, improvements will include removing the existing tennis court and replacing it with a new multi-sports court, install a walking path and install a natural play area with fall protection chips. The bathrooms will also be upgraded and new park benches will be added.
“The city has committed to providing $74,184 of match (in-kind or cash) for the $111,276 of grant funding from Oregon Parks and Recreation Department,” Interim City Manager Leanne Stedman said.
The project is expected to likely begin in April or May and is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2025.
