PENDLETON – Umatilla County Public Health and the Umatilla County Master Gardeners is launching Seed to Supper, a free six-week gardening class that begins Saturday, May 6. The classes are being held at the Umatilla County Extension Office at Blue Mountain Community College’s Umatilla Hall in Pendleton. The extension office is also a partner in the program.
“The Seed to Supper program is vital to the Pendleton Community Gardens project, which seeks to revitalize two existing community gardens,” U-Co Health Communications Coordinator Marlee Goodnight said. “These are part of the Umatilla County Public Health’s 2022 to 2026 Community Health Improvement Plan.”
All six classes will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturdays. Transportation is available for those who need it, and refreshments are provided. The meeting room is wheelchair accessible. Space is limited for the free series of classes, so people are urged to sign up as soon as possible.
