Four Union County residents charged in Boulder Park burglaries

BAKER COUNTY – Four Union County residents have been arrested in connection with a string of burglaries that occurred at the Boulder Park Campground area last summer. Robert Haney, 34; Michael Dale McLean, 45; and Tiffany McLean, 44, all of Union, Oregon were arrested on multiple charges.

On August 19, 2024, Baker County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a report of a burglary at the Boulder Park Campground area. Deputy Hansen spoke with the reporting party, Jeff Williams. Williams discovered that his cabin, along with two others, had been broken into. Several items, including generators and tools were missing.

During the investigation, Williams notified Deputy Hansen that he located some of the stolen items at a residence in Union, Oregon. Deputy Hansen and USFS Law Enforcement Officer Betts conducted interviews with several residents in Union.

After the investigation was concluded, a warrant was issued for Joseph Dean Furgerson (35 yoa), Austin Robert Haney (34 yoa), Michael Dale McLean (45 yoa) and Tiffany McLean (44 yoa) of Union, Oregon. All were charged with Burglary II (3 counts), Theft I (3 counts) and Criminal Conspiracy (1 count). Tiffany McLean was arrested on December 21, 2024 in Union County. Furgerson, Haney, and Michael McLean were arrested on December 24, 2024 in Union County and transported to the Baker County Jail.
