BAKER CITY – (Release from Baker PD) During the month of October, between October 23, 2021, to October 28, 2021, Baker City Police (BCPD) took reports for four runaway juveniles that included 3 juvenile males and one juvenile female. All four runaway juveniles were recovered between the dates of November 3rd to November 4th, 2021.
During these concurrent investigations, BCPD worked with the public, receiving multiple tips from the social media platforms involving all four juveniles.
One male juvenile was recovered on November 3, 2021 at about 11:36 PM in front of a local business.
Two of the runaway male juveniles were called in by members of the public that led to a short foot chase through Central Park on November 4, 2021, at about 3:00 PM. The foot-chase ended with both juveniles stopping in the 2000 block of Resort Street where they both finally obeyed officer commands and were taken into custody.
The missing juvenile female returned to family on November 4, 2021 where she was reunited with her mother. An officer, who was actively taking possible sighting information on this runaway female, was called by the runaway’s mother and respond to the mother’s location to verify the female had returned and was safe.
Baker City Police determined all four juveniles had intentionally ran-away and all four were recovered without any reported injury. At this time there is no connection to the three runaway male juveniles and the single runway female juvenile.
The Baker City Police Department would like to thank our community members and social media responses that led to the tips and safe recovery of all four juveniles.
