Former Fireside Lounge and Restaurant building near Prairie City destroyed in fire

PRAIRIE CITY – The former Fireside Lounge and Restaurant building located near Dixie Mountain outside of Prairie City has burned down, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said no injuries were reported in the fire, and that state fire marshals have been called in to investigate alongside the Prairie City Rural Fire Department.
Oregon Department of Forestry and U.S. Forest service crews also assisted to make sure the blaze did not spread and become a wildland fire.
Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley said the property had been a home for the last few years, after the business sold.
