Former Enterprise athlete tries for the Summer Olympics

ENTERPRISE – A former Enterprise High School athlete, David Ribich is a few steps from the 2021 Summer Olympics.  Ribich will be competing at trials in Eugene, beginning today, trying to earn a spot in the men’s 1,500-meter run in Tokyo.  Ribich is ranked 28th out of 30 competitors in the 1,500 with a qualifying time of 3:37.44. 

Runners will compete through two-rounds with the semifinal race June 25th and finals June 27th.

Ribich said, “Running for me is a collective experience that involves everyone from my life. When I was growing into the sport I was surrounded by coaches, friends, family, and community who encouraged me to pursue this life I now live.”
