Forest area closure reduced around Courtrock Fire

MONUMENT – (Press Release from the Malheur National Forest)

The Malheur National Forest has reduced the area closure for the Courtrock Fire on the Blue Mountain Ranger District. A portion of the area around the fire will remain in a closure to protect public health and safety. This closure will be effective August 19, 2024, through December 31, 2024, unless rescinded sooner. This Forest Order rescinds and replaces the previous Courtrock Fire Area Closure Order 06-04-01-24-18.

Closure Area Description:

Starting at the junction of Grant County Road 88 and Forest Service Road 3955-741, Follow Forest Service Road 3955-741 to the junction of Forest Road 3955. Follow Forest Road 3955 until it ends at the forest, S34, including all roads, trails, and camping locations within the fire closure area.
