PENDLETON – Umatilla County officials said that floodwaters have begun to recede following a period of constant rain that cause flooding Wednesday, though several low-lying areas and roadways remain impacted.

While water levels on the Umatilla River and Mill Creek have dropped after cresting, authorities noted that Pine and Wildhorse Creeks continue to pose concerns for residents in Athena, Cayuse, and Weston.

Bingham Road has reopened after being closed due to water on the roadway but there may be delays with crews working on the road. County road crews are currently assessing and working on other impacted country roads and are asking people to avoid affected areas if they don’t have an immediate need to be there.
