PENDLETON – Flood Warnings for a significant part of Eastern Oregon have been issued by the National Weather Service, lasting through tomorrow morning.

Flood Warning National Weather Service Pendleton OR 1018 AM PDT Wed May 20 2020 ORC023-211715- /O.NEW.KPDT.FA.W.0010.200520T1718Z-200521T1715Z/ /00000.0.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Grant OR- 1018 AM PDT Wed May 20 2020 The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a * Flood Warning for urban areas and small streams in... Southern Grant County in central Oregon... * Until 1015 AM PDT Thursday. * At 1018 AM PDT, Heavy rain has fallen overnight and this morning. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warning area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. * Sharp rises will continue on stream and creeks across the warned area. Flooding may be seen on Canyon Creek as well as Dog Creek and the upper reaches of the John Day River as well as many other creeks and streams across the area. Most creeks and streams will crest late tonight or early Thursday. Some locations that will experience flooding include... John Day, Canyon City, Mount Vernon, Seneca, Dayville, Silvies and Izee. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
