HARNEY COUNTY(Released from the National Weather Service in Boise)-The National Weather Service in Boise ID has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Oregon. Silvies River Near Burns affecting Harney County. Warm temperatures will melt snowpack and increase river flows.
For the Silvies River…including Burns…Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE…Silvies River near Burns.
* WHEN…From Tuesday morning to late Friday evening.
* IMPACTS…At 12.0 feet, Flooding of fields will occur in the Burns area. Water will encroach on some private properties along North Broadway Avenue, Foley Road, and Stancliff Road. Water will be close to flowing on to Highway 20 at the Silvies River Bridge. Low spots in the Burns RV Park may be impacted.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 10:00 AM PDT Monday the stage was 10.4 feet.
– Bankfull stage is 10.5 feet.
– Forecast…The river will rise above flood stage late Tuesday morning.
– Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of
12.5 feet on 03/08/1986.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
