LA GRANDE – (Release from Eastern Oregon University) The Cascade Collegiate Conference has announced its 2022 All-Conference selections and Eastern Oregon University had five players make the list.
Earning All-CCC honors were Erika Skindlov, Darby McDevitt, Megan Gustafson, Yahaira Chavarria-Mondragon, and Baylee Shewchuk. Skindlov was the lone First Team All-CCC selectee for the Mounties while both McDevitt and Gustafson were named Second Team All-CCC. Mondragon and Shewchuk were both selected Honorable Mention All-CCC.
Skindlov earned her first All-CCC First Team selection and her third All-CCC award as a Mountie, earning Second Team All-CCC in 2020 and 2021. Starting 15 games for the Mountaineers this season, Skindlov was an anchor on both offense and defense. Scoring four goals on the season along with six assists. Skindlov finished the season with 27 total shots and had 12 on goal. On the defensive side of the ball, Skindlov played a key part in a Mountie defense that was able to post 13 scoreless matches.
McDevitt earned her first All-CCC honors being a part of the Second Team All-CCC. Starting 16 matches for the Mounties this season, McDevitt was an anchor for the Mountaineer defense. This is not the first honor she was able to earn this season, earning Rize Laboratory Defensive Player of the Week for her stellar play earlier this season. Megan Gustafson joined McDevitt as a Second Team All-CCC selectee for the Mountaineers. Only a sophomore, she earned her first All-CCC selection. Gustafson was a key part of both the Mounties offense and defense. Starting 15 matches this season as a defender, Gustafson tallied two goals, both of which were game winners.
Mondragon in her final season as a Mountie earned her Second Honorable Mention All-CCC Selection (2021). Mondragon was a key contributor to the strong Mountie defense that posted 13 scoreless matches this season. Joining Mondragon as an Honorable Mention selectee was Baylee Shewchuk. Shewchuk in her first season with the Mounties earned her first All-CCC selection. Shewchuk started seven matches and was able to tally two goals on eight total shots this season.
The Mountaineers season continues as they enter Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament play. No. 4 seeded Eastern will take on No. 5 Corban University at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, Nov. 8 in Springfield, Ore.
