WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla Public Schools reports that things went smoothly during the first week of the school year with remote learning. During the summer, the district increased its telephone and internet service capacities to prepare for distance learning
WWPS reports both systems met operational expectations and handled the increased loads. District-wide, attendance exceeded 95 percent. Teachers and students interacted live via Zoom and Google platforms throughout the week.
This week marks the start of the school year for Walla Walla kindergarten and transitional kindergarten students. These programs are for students aged 4 and 5. The district’s goal is to return to face-to-face instruction for pre-kindergarten through second grade as soon as possible.
Students and families that are experiencing technical difficulties are asked to contact their school secretaries. The secretaries will work with Technology Department staff to resolve any issues.
