BAKER CITY – C-Shift with Baker City Fire and Rescue worked on 2.5” hose deployment drills recently off the Ladder Truck. This is just another skill that is important to keep fine tuned for firefighters. According to the department, most ladder trucks in larger cities don’t carry hose, water or a pump. Ladder 2451, one of the departments trucks, is called a “Quint” and basically a regular engine (or “pumper) with a mounted ladder on the top. The department says that “having a quint gives our department flexibility and works as a backup when our frontline engine is out for repair.”
