Firefighters stay busy from starts caused by lightning

GRANT COUNTY – Wildcad.net is showing that firefighting resources contained or controlled three wildfires just yesterday, June 27th, stopping them each at a tenth of an acre. The Dredge, Conroy and Slide Creek fires are all listed as either controlled or contained.
Also, the John Day Fire Department responded to a grass fire caused by lightning at around 2:30 yesterday afternoon. Stay tuned for local wildfire updates.
