Firefighters respond to metal shop fire in Finley

FINLEY – Firefighters from Benton and Walla Walla counties, along with the city of Kennewick, responded to a fire in a 20 x 20 metal shop just before 4 a.m. Thursday around East Finley Road and East Schuster Road.

When firefighters arrived, the structure was fully involved. Two people and a dog who were inside the shop evacuated safely. One of the occupants attempted to put out the fire with a garden hose.

Several vehicles inside the structure made it difficult to access, and the fire caused a loft area to collapse. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
