Firefighters injured on Salmon Fire released from hospital and recovering

GRANT COUNTY – The Salmon Fire Public Information Office has issued an update on two firefighters that suffered injuries from a falling tree last week. The two firefighters are now home and recovering. Read the full update below:

The two firefighters who were injured on July 15, 2026 while assigned to the Salmon Fire in Oregon have been released from the hospital and have safely returned to their home units.
We are thankful for the swift actions of the first responders, as well as the coordinated efforts of the emergency personnel who worked together to ensure they received prompt, professional medical care. The outpouring of support from the entire wildland fire community, family members, and the public has been deeply appreciated.
