MT VERNON, OR – On Sunday, May 16th around 2:41 p.m., Mount Vernon Rural Fire Department responded to a tree on fire up Harper Creek. Oregon Department of Forestry and Grant County Sheriff’s Office personnel assisted in the efforts. According to wildcad.net, the fire grew to 1.5 acres and burned mostly in grass and brush. The blaze is reported to be 100% mopped up. The cause of the fire was not listed.
