Firefighters actively battling multiple fire starts

GRANT/WHEELER COUNTY – UPDATE:

-As of 11:15 a.m., the Lewis Rock Fire has been updated to 75 acres in size.

-The Kline Wildfire, 11.9 miles east of Prairie City was reported to be burning in logs and dead/down snags. It was last updated at a tenth of an acre with resources on scene.

PREVIOUSLY RELEASED:

-The Lewis Rock Fire burning 4.4 miles southeast of Mitchell was updated Thursday morning at 58 acres.

-Multiple wildfire starts were reported following lightning activity over Grant County yesterday. The Mt. Vernon Rural Fire Department were dispatched to the Coyote Butte area for an incident. We are awaiting further information on that one.

-John Day Interagency Dispatch reports that resources are on-scene of the 2.6-acre Shirttail II Fire.

-There are also incidents reported at a tenth of an acre near Damon Creek and Rail Creek. We’ll keep this post updated as more information comes in. Find official wildfire information at wildcad.net.
