Firefighter flown from Rail Ridge Fire due to heat-related illness

GRANT COUNTY – According to information from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, an injured female firefighter was flown by air ambulance off the line yesterday up Fields Creek in Grant County. Sheriff McKinley reports that the incident was a heat related injury. The operation used a “short haul” transport by helicopter with a medic to the waiting air ambulance helicopter near Fields Creek and Hwy 26. The firefighter’s current condition is unknown.
