Firearms stolen in Walla Walla residential burglary, juveniles arrested

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla Regional Drug and Gang Task Force (WWRDGTF) is actively investigating a residential burglary that occurred Monday, Oct. 7 in Walla Walla. During this incident, numerous firearms were stolen from a locked safe within the residence.

On Wednesday, Oct. 9, WWRDGTF received information regarding the burglary, which led detectives to the 100 block of Malcolm Street in Walla Walla. A search warrant was granted for the residence. Due to the potential risks associated with this case, the Walla Walla Regional SWAT team was deployed to secure the residence prior to detectives conducting their search.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, three juveniles have been arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, theft of a firearm, and possession of a stolen firearm. While several of the stolen firearms have been recovered, others remain missing.

The Walla Walla Regional Drug and Gang Task Force is a multi-jurisdictional team which consists of detectives from Walla Walla Police Department, College Place Police Department, Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office, and Washington State Department of Corrections.
