Fire restriction in Effect on the East Steens Area

HARNEY COUNTY (Released from Burns Interagency Fire Zone)-Seasonal fire prevention rules are now in place for public lands on the east side of Steens Mountain, including the Pueblo Mountains, Alvord Desert, and parts of the Trout Creek Mountains.

No campfires. No off-road travel through vegetation. Fire tools required. Smoking only in cleared areas. Spark arrestors mandatory for OHVs.

Reminder: Fireworks, exploding targets, and tracer ammo are banned on all public lands in Oregon & Washington.
