LA GRANDE- (Release from LA Grande Fire) on Saturday night, September 12 “Brush 47, Brush 48, and Command 4 deployed to assist La Grande Rural Fire Protection District on a two-alarm wildfire in the Ladd Marsh area. We were joined in efforts from our Union County mutual aid partners and the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF).
The incident was triggered by lightning strikes from a passing thunderstorm. Despite initial precipitation, prolonged seasonal drought conditions and high ambient temperatures drove aggressive fire behavior.
During the incident, off-duty personnel provided station coverage to maintain uninterrupted emergency response capacity for the City of La Grande.”
