Fire Departments held their annual wildfire firefighter refresher training last week

LA GRANDE – La Grande Rural and City of La Grande Fire Department held their annual wildland firefighter refresher training last week, Training elements included deploying shelters in the event of entrapment. Fans were used to simulate high winds that would likely be present during a real-life scenario. La Grande Rural Fire Protection District notes that during these trainings they have one minute to “take out their shelter, and completely cover themselves in the shelter to pass the test.“
