Fire damages multi-family dwelling

MILTON-FREEWATER – The Milton-Freewater Fire Department responded to a fire in a multi-family dwelling consisting of an office and apartments at 16 SW 10^th Ave. Tuesday night.

Chief Shane Garner said firefighters were dispatched to the two-story structure, which was in the process being remodeled, at 11:13 p.m. Damage to the structure is estimated at $80,000 to $100,000.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Milton-Freewater Rural Fire and EMS also responded.
